Intelligent buildings for smarter, healthier, more productive people

ARM believes that by 2035 one trillion devices will be connected to the internet. We will find a large number of them in the next generation of high performing buildings. According to McKinseyi , half the opportunities for Internet of Things (IoT) vendors are expected to come from the built environment; from homes, buildings, factories and cities. More than 50 percent of the world’s seven billion people already live in citiesii. By 2050 close to ten billion people will inhabit our planet, two-thirds of whom will be urban dwellers. In order to support this rapid urbanization, buildings need to be smarter and more sustainable. Smart buildings will positively impact the health and productivity of these citizens while improving the environment and the economy.
