An overview of EVRYTHNG's IoT Smart Products Platform. Evrythng, the Internet of Things (IoT) smart products platform that gives any physical object a so-called “digital identity,” has closed a $24.8 million Series B funding. The round was led by San Francisco-based Sway Ventures, and also included Toronto-based Generation Ventures and London-based Bloc Ventures. They join existing backers such as Cisco Investments, Samsung, BHLP, Atomico, Dawn Capital and Advance Vixeid Partners.

Lumkani is a social enterprise with a mission to mitigate the loss of life and property caused by slum fires in South Africa and across the globe. To accomplish this Lumkani has developed and distributed our networked early warning fire detection system to over 40,000 homes in informal settlements across South Arica. Along the way it has partnered with local NGOs; international aid organizations; and corporations to reach high fire risk households. This award-winning system has been successfully reducing the spread of fires for over four years, and has limited fires from spreading beyond the first home in 71% of cases.
