Intel looks to CES for smart city data and AI partnerships

Intel-owned Mobileye and UK government mapping agency Ordnance Survey (OS) have joined hands to bring high-precision location data to British agencies and businesses. A new, accurate, and customisable location information service will be offered by combining Mobileye’s automotive camera-based mapping capabilities together with OS’ geospatial and technology expertise. This service will benefit survey customers across infrastructure, energy, and other sectors. The partnership is important as it shows the use of mapping innovation beyond futuristic self-driving vehicles. This shows Mobileye’s mapping capabilities to spread out the value of location data to businesses in new market segments, such as smart cities. With the help of Mobileye technology, vehicles would collect substantial volumes of location data on road networks and roadside infrastructure.
