The SiriusDecisions B-to-B Buying Decision Process Framework

July 8, 2019

Decisionmaking is a cognitive process defined by psychologists as the selection of a course of action from multiple alternatives (e.g. what to eat, where to shop). John Dewey, the pragmatic philosopher and psychologist, introduced the first decision process framework for consumer buying in his book How We Think, which was published in 1910. Since then, Dewey’s framework has been adapted many times, but the five basic stages of consumer decisions remain the same: problem/need recognition, information search, evaluation of alternatives, purchase decision and post-purchase behavior.

EyeSpy - Iranian Spyware Delivered in VPN Installers

whitePaper | August 16, 2022

During routine analysis of detection performance, we noticed a batch of processes that respected the same pattern in the process names. These names begin with sys, win or lib followed by a word that describes the functionality, such as bus, crt, temp, cache, init, and end in 32.exe. We later noticed that the .bat files and the downloaded payloads respect the same naming convention. Further investigation revealed the components are part of a monitoring application called SecondEye, developed in Iran and distributed legitimately via the developer’s website. We also found that some spyware components were already described in an article published by Blackpoint [1]. In the article, researchers drew attention to the dangers of legally distributed monitoring software with malicious behavior

Best practices for cellular IoT development

whitePaper | March 28, 2022

This document introduces the main aspects and decisions you need to consider before and during your development phase of a low-power cellular Internet of Things (IoT) product. The sections are structured and ordered chronologically to follow a natural way of designing a cellular IoT device. The first sections cover the initial design decisions you might need to make to get the best possible baseline of your design. This includes overviews about the nRF9160 System in Package (SiP), modem radio, and radio technologies. The importance of network coverage and access is also discussed.
