Mysten Labs, a Web3 infrastructure company and initial developer of the Sui Layer 1 blockchain, today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Chirp, a decentralized, multi-protocol, global wireless network and a platform for the Internet of Things (“IoT”) and high speed wireless broadband. Through this partnership, Chirp will leverage Sui’s decentralized, dynamic, and scalable technology to build the future of connectivity.

Founded in 2021 by Tim Kravchunovsky, Chirp is harnessing the power of decentralization to build the world’s most robust, seamless, and user-friendly network. Chirp’s IoT and high-speed broadband internet solutions are fully wireless, available anywhere, and both easier to manage and more cost-effective than alternative networks. To provide low-cost IoT and internet solutions, Chirp enables its community to grow the network through its custom-built gateways.

The company has developed two product lines: an IoT hybrid network that utilizes its own wireless network infrastructure and also uses capacity from other Network Operators to extend its network coverage and reach. The IoT network is powered by a gateway called The Blackbird and the wireless broadband solution is powered by a community-owned gateway called The Cardinal, both of which will utilize Sui’s unique blockchain technology to bring traditional network infrastructure to the Web3 world.

“While IoT has delivered immense value to billions of people around the world, it remains very difficult to navigate, forcing users to engage with various vendors, networks, and platforms to achieve their intended objectives,” said Tim Kravchunovsky, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chirp. “Chirp’s mission is to prove that IoT can be affordable and easy to use. By leveraging the Sui network and the benefits of a decentralized economy, Chirp is building a product that has a variety of B2B and B2C applications across multiple sectors of the economy, from transportation and autonomous driving to home automation. We can’t wait to work with Mysten Labs to continue to unlock the innumerable possibilities inherent in decentralized connectivity and make life easier for our users.”

Mysten Labs was launched in 2021 by former executives of Meta’s Novi Research and lead architects of the Diem blockchain and Move programming language. The company is helping develop Sui, a decentralized, proof-of-stake blockchain that builds on important innovations in consensus algorithms and leverages novel data structures to deliver a high-performance, low-cost Layer 1.

"Chirp is building the infrastructure for millions of users and billions of devices to connect on a decentralized network. While this is no small feat, the companys strong team of experienced builders, network engineers, and telecom experts - combined with Sui’s decentralized technology and capabilities - make Chirp as well-positioned as any to execute on this mission,” said Evan Cheng, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mysten Labs, initial contributor to the development of the Sui protocol. “We are excited to partner with Chirp to bring these unique, customer-focused solutions to market, and look forward to being a part of this journey.”

KORE Supports GrandPad Mission to Help Seniors Age in Place with IoT

prnewswire | August 07, 2023

KORE, a global leader in Internet of Things ("IoT") Solutions and pioneering IoT hyperscaler, and provider of IoT Connectivity, Solutions and Analytics, announced today its alliance with GrandPad, a revolutionary service that allows seniors to connect with loved ones and caregivers at the touch of a button. Part of KORE's "IoT for Good" initiative, KORE's services help older adults to "age in place," which the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines as "the ability to live in one's own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably." A key piece of aging in place is connecting seniors to family and caregivers simply and affordably, which is where KORE's relationship with GrandPad comes into play. Powered by KORE's robust IoT connectivity solutions, GrandPad is an easy-to-use communication device allowing seniors to connect to vital caregivers and family members by making video calls, sending voice messages, and viewing media. GrandPad is specially designed for older adults with little to no computer experience who have resisted conventional modern technology and may have diminishing eyesight, motor skills, hearing, or cognition. Romil Bahl, KORE President and CEO, said KORE is honored to provide its extensive IoT technology to help seniors age with grace and dignity. "As technology pioneers, it's our duty to use advancements in the field to help our aging population," said Bahl. "Technological progress isn't really progress unless it's helping us live fuller, longer lives. KORE's 'IoT for Good' initiative aims to accomplish just that." The keys to GrandPad's success are simplicity, security and reliability, which work together to enable independence, said GrandPad CEO and Co-Founder Scott Lien. "When a senior taps the 'Help' button on their GrandPad, our Member Experience agents are there to answer questions or resolve any issue as quickly as possible," Lien said. "The goal is for our seniors to have the utmost confidence that our product will help when they need it. This allows them to live comfortably and independently." As lifespans continue to increase, the number of adults over 60 requiring long-term care will more than triple over the next three decades, according to The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), making access to solutions like GrandPad more important than ever. Forescout Joins MISA and Announces Integration with Microsoft Sentinel to Provide Automated Threat Management Across the Extended Enterprise

businesswire | August 24, 2023

Forescout, a global cybersecurity leader, today announced integrations with Microsoft Sentinel as part of a broader initiative to support the Microsoft Security portfolio. These integrations will deliver real-time visibility, threat management, and incident response across the extended enterprise: campus, datacenter, remote workers, cloud, mobile, IoT, OT and IoMT endpoints. The continued rise in severity, sophistication, and number of cyberattacks has shown that many organizations’ current disparate cybersecurity frameworks and tools are insufficient. Understaffed security operations centers (SOCs), a proliferation of unmanaged devices, and newly discovered and exploitable vulnerabilities on legacy systems compound and exacerbate the risk and likelihood of a breach. Sophisticated adversaries are targeting increasingly complex, heterogenous compute environments while security teams are inundated by false positives, and threats that get missed, aren’t properly prioritized, or aren’t responded to appropriately. Forescout helps enterprises continuously identify and classify every connected asset type – IT, OT, IoT and IoMT, managed, unmanaged or un-agentable – and enable the automated enforcement of appropriate security and compliance measures to reduce risk. "We’re proud to join the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA) through our integration with Microsoft Sentinel, to provide customers with a comprehensive and holistic approach to cybersecurity,” said Barry Mainz, CEO of Forescout. “With this integration, Forescout helps security teams more deeply understand the risks within their network, helps mitigate cyber-attacks, and most crucially, helps them respond rapidly and accurately if one does occur." Microsoft’s Sentinel platform adds a crucial layer of automated intelligence by delivering an impactful and automated way to drastically improve the signal to noise ratio security teams are grappling with daily. Forescout’s new comprehensive integration with Microsoft Sentinel along with long standing touch points to Microsoft’s broad Enterprise suite of solutions provides joint customers with real-time device context, risk insights, and automated mitigation and remediation capabilities that will improve overall security response times to incidents and events. This enables customers to remove complexity from the incident response process by leveraging Forescout’s automation and AI to quickly make contextual decisions to improve security or mitigate a cyber-incident. The benefits of the Forescout integration with Microsoft include: Faster mean time to respond (MTTR): Enables orchestration of host-based remediation through Microsoft Defender, via integrations with Microsoft Sentinel along with network-based response via Forescout, to accelerate mean-time-to-respond for the SOC. Comprehensive, real-time asset discovery and inventory:Provides a holistic 360-degree view of their enterprise environment. This includes valuable device context such as logical and physical network location, risk exposure, device identity, and taxonomy. Asset Lifecycle Management:Automatically assess posture and enforce compliance, identify known vulnerabilities and indicators of compromise, quarantine at-risk devices, remediate problems, and allow endpoints back onto the network with appropriate network segmentation policies, all enforced from a single platform. An ideal set of capabilities to supplement “comply to connect” initiatives with a proven ability to never lose asset context at any stage of the process. Attack Surface and Automated Threat Management:Real-time risk assessment and remediation of endpoint posture to harden devices, segmentation policies to enforce least-privilege network connectivity, automated detection and quarantine controls that together enable a true Zero Trust architecture. “Microsoft Sentinel brings together data, intelligent analytics, and workflows to unify and accelerate threat detection and response across the enterprise. With Microsoft Sentinel Content hub customers gain access to robust built-in and partner published content and solutions with the click of a button. We are thrilled to collaborate with partners like Forescout, to develop valuable and innovative content for our users,” said Rob Lefferts, Corporate Vice President, Modern Protection and SOC. About Forescout Forescout Technologies, Inc., a global cybersecurity leader, continuously identifies, protects and helps ensure the compliance of all managed and unmanaged connected cyber assets – IT, IoT, IoMT and OT. Beyond Smart WiFi, boosting customer experience while creating new revenue streams

prnewswire | July 31, 2023

Beyond Technology, a global company with headquarters in the US and offices in Mexico, Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, APAC and Europe, is launching a unique new solution that will shake up dramatically the way we see connectivity in public spaces. Beyond Smart WiFi (BSWF) implies a powerful Artificial Intelligence managed WiFi network that repairs and optimizes itself and is Operator grade. The WiFi automation brings to the table 20% to 30% wireless network OPEX savings, while the Cloud-based WiFi microservices saves around 20% of CAPEX, support WiFi 6, IoT (Internet of Things), AI, automation, and location-based services. The solution can be integrated into resorts, cruises, malls, theme parks, museums, hospitals, schools and stadiums. Through Precision Marketing by location, BSWF can help companies capture contacts, develop trust relationships, stimulate purchase actions and foster brand loyalty. The platform can segment web visitors based on their interests. Marketers claim to see a 56% increase in their sales when using personalized experiences. BSWF displays the Adds in the cell phone main screen, while normally the competition sends them via SMS or emails, that become pure spam. "This product could become so relevant that it may change the way WiFi networks are being used by all these businesses", says Guillermo Solomon, US CEO at Beyond Technology. With this solution, cross-selling and up-selling strategies can be implemented with much better results. For example, inside a shopping center, if a potential customer passes in front of a store and has logged in with a social network (which happens in 40% of the cases), BSWF will get important data, such as gender, age, and attributes. Then, the system can immediately send a personalized ad about the products of that store that could interest the customer, as well as discount coupons with QR codes. This encourages buying in ranges that exceed 50%. Indoor location with route maps in BSWF is automated with AI, and the network has also Bluetooth and IoT connectivity. If you are in a supermarket and want to buy a folding chair to go camping, instead of looking for an employee, you can get a route map to find the product. AboutBeyond Technology At Beyond Technology, we are a global company that has been in the business of helping transform businesses through technology for over three decades. We have helped different organizations across industries around infrastructure projects, mobility, IoT, and cybersecurity initiatives to ensure they are on top of trends with modernized systems across all sectors, including enterprise and telecommunications, where we specialize heavily.
