Nutanix announces availability of its Xi IoT and Xi Cloud Services

Cloud computing software provider Nutanix has made available its new edge computing service ‘Xi IoT’, which expedites deployment, removes complexity, and encourages developers to focus on business logic powering IoT applications and services. The Xi IoT platform is different from the conventional IoT models. The Xi IoT platform provides machine inference, local compute, and data services to perform real-time processing at the edge. The Xi IoT Data Pipelines securely moves intelligently analysed data to a customer’s public or private cloud platform of choice for long-term analysis. As the platform offers zero-touch setup and management of edge devices, enterprises can mitigate the risk of IoT security breaches due to human error, boost efficiency and lower the cost of operating edge devices across the world. Ashish Nadkarni, group vice president, infrastructure systems, platforms and technologies at IDC, said: “It is critical for enterprise organisations to have an edge strategy to unify, edge to cloud connectivity, to rapidly build IoT applications, and to provide real-time analytics closer to where the data is generated.
