EE launches 4G-capable IoT comms platform

Mobile network operator EE has unveiled the UK’s first 4G-capable, dedicated machine-to-machine (M2M) platform as it seeks to capitalise on the future of the internet of things (IoT).
The EE Connect platform will provide dedicated M2M customer service, monitoring tools, automation and granular reporting for enterprise users and public sector organisations, with the intention of making development and deployment of IoT technologies easier.
According to EE’s statistics, there are currently over two million machines communicating with one another over its 2G and 3G network, and they will double in number in the next 18 months.
