AT&T, Vodafone Bridge IoT Networks Across US, Europe

AT&T and Vodafone Business want to bridge the IoT divide between the United States and Europe with a roaming deal that allows customers to access to their respective narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) networks across six countries. The operators say this will make it easier to build IoT deployments that work across the U.S. and parts of Europe. This includes AT&T’s country-wide NB-IoT network and the Vodafone networks in Spain, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. It will be available to customers by the end of 2019, according to the operators. NB-IoT is a low power wide area (LPWA) network designed specifically for IoT devices that require long battery life, high-signal penetration and low data volumes.
