Sternum | May 10, 2022
Sternum, the provider of the Internet of Things (IoT) cybersecurity and observability platform, offering complete real-time firmware security, announced the release of the first real-world attack simulation and evaluation platform, enabling IoT device makers to evaluate their devices against top current threats.
The threats to IoT devices continue to grow and the impact has increased significantly. According to research by Forrester Consulting, 67% of enterprises in the US have experienced an IoT incident, and only 16% of enterprise security managers say they have adequate visibility to the IoT devices in their environments. In March 2022, the U.S Government Issued Stark Warning calling Firmware Security a “Single Point Of Failure”
While there are many IoT security solutions, devices remain highly vulnerable. Device makers find it hard to understand the level of risk in their devices, prioritize their resources, and choose the most effective solution to reduce risk. Many security solutions claim coverage using frameworks like the MITRE ATTACK evaluation framework. However, no such framework exists for IoT devices. Additionally, the complexity of the threat landscape and the myriad of devices make assessing the level of risk and choosing the right solution to protect the devices an extremely difficult task.
With its deep expertise in cyber offense and defense, Sternum first identified the 20 most critical attacks in the last few years and developed a platform to simulate these attacks and demonstrate firmware weaknesses, exploitation methods and protection options. Enterprises can then make well-informed decisions about how to best protect their devices.
Sternum will demonstrate live the first attack simulation platform for the top 20 attacks on many IOT devices at their booth xxx at the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress on May 10th.
Sternum is the only code-free, device-resident IoT security, observation, and data-harvesting company. The Company’s transformational, patented software can be embedded into any IoT device, no matter the underlying code, manufacturer, or year of production, and is actionable whether the device is connected or not. This self-sustaining, unified platform brings intelligence to otherwise non-communicative edge devices, enabling them to autonomously protect themselves without connectivity and generate real-time data; processing happens in the Sternum cloud platform when available. Sternum was founded in 2018 by a team of highly experienced research, development, and business leaders, many coming from the Israeli Defense Forces’ (IDF) elite 8200 unit.
Kajeet | May 20, 2022
Kajeet®, a leading provider of wireless connectivity, software and hardware solutions that deliver secure, reliable and managed IoT solutions to over 3,000 businesses, schools and districts, and state and local governments, today announced the launch of Sentinel Insights, a robust, cloud-based data analytics product that enhances Kajeet’s flagship IoT management platform, Sentinel®. With machine learning and predictive analytics, Sentinel Insights provides real-time data, alerts and visualization capabilities that transform customer data into actionable intelligence for better, more informed decision making.
Sentinel Insights pioneers a new era for Kajeet’s data analytics engine and represents a critical step forward in our mission of providing intelligent connections for good. Analyzing data trends and anomalies – such as how and when students use their devices, the content they consume, their engagement rate, etc. – can help educators produce better outcomes for their students.”
Greg Jones, chief technology officer at Kajeet.
According to Gartner, most chief data officers will fail to establish data literacy within their workforce by 2025. This projection emphasizes a key pain point: they simply do not have the resources needed to gather, process and interpret the data needed to drive specific actions. Sentinel Insights eradicates these inefficiencies for organizations, providing an innovative solution that processes data and extracts meaningful takeaways to optimize their delivery against business goals.
Sentinel Insights is the only analytics tool in the IoT connectivity market that provides multiple, real-time, interactive data visualization dashboards that are highly configurable according to the unique needs of customers. It aggregates insights from various data-rich sources and tracks real-time activity at the device, application and network levels. Sentinel Insights also enables dynamic cohort analysis, allowing device managers to detect significant trends and anomalies across a specific group of users - a capability that presents breakthrough benefits for Kajeet’s customer base.
According to Dennis David, president of Infuriant Technology Solutions, “The launch of the real-time Sentinel Insights analytics platform is an incredibly valuable addition to the Kajeet product portfolio. Our clients, such as Five Guys, have a voracious appetite for real-time analytics across all areas of their business operations, down to accurately predicting the number of pickles needed in each location on a daily basis.”
Sentinel Insights is provisioned on Kajeet’s Sentinel™ IoT management platform. Centralizing all devices, data usage, user groups, and policies, Sentinel enables administrators to manage multiple networks and accounts across all devices, as well as providing web filtering, firewalls and next-gen malware detection—all in one easy-to-use interface. Today, Elevāt, a leading global IoT connected machines SaaS innovator, announced that Versatile, a division of Buhler Industries, Inc. (TSX: BUI), deployed the Elevāt Machine Connect platform across its entire tractor line for Model Year 2022. Since starting tractor production in 1966, Versatile has remained a leader for articulating four-wheel drive tractors.
We manufacture all our tractors in our factory in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As the only Canadian agricultural tractor manufacturer, we pride ourselves on our leadership in manufacturing, assembly, and research and development," says Erron Leafloor, Versatile.
"When we decided to integrate IoT telematics software, sensors, and gateways into our tractors, we wanted to ensure the solution we implemented provided a seamless experience for our entire dealer network and our customers. We chose to work with Elevāt because of their willingness and ability to tailor their solution and the portal to our unique requirements. We have just begun to deploy the CBX system by Elevāt in our tractors; our dealers and end users are already excited about the benefits," continues Leafloor.
The team at Versatile came to Elevāt looking for a solution that would support remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance and deliver capabilities like over-the-air (OTA) updates, geofencing and geotracking, and proactive telematics reports. Also, advanced features like virtual technician support and command and control supported Versatile's dedication to advanced innovation. They also wanted a fully white-labeled portal experience that aligned with the Versatile brand and delivered a customer experience that supported Versatile's long-held commitment to customer service."
