Poster Abstract: A Modular Programming Approach for IoT-Based Wireless Sensor Networks

March 1, 2016

We aim to build a programming framework for IoT-based WSN, where we try to free the programmer from responsibilities of resource management, application distribution, and code deployment. As a foundation of this framework, we propose a modular programming model which lets programmer describe the application functionality with minimum knowledge of resources available in the WSN. We propose that using such programming model, the application code can facilitate the automatic deployment and management of IoT-based WSN applications

Best practices for cellular IoT development

whitePaper | March 28, 2022

This document introduces the main aspects and decisions you need to consider before and during your development phase of a low-power cellular Internet of Things (IoT) product. The sections are structured and ordered chronologically to follow a natural way of designing a cellular IoT device. The first sections cover the initial design decisions you might need to make to get the best possible baseline of your design. This includes overviews about the nRF9160 System in Package (SiP), modem radio, and radio technologies. The importance of network coverage and access is also discussed.

Internet of Things (IoT) in the Federal Government

whitePaper | June 8, 2021

The Internet of Things is one of the most impactful IT innovations of our time. As consumers, we already encounter the IoT in our daily lives with smart items such as TVs, watches, and phones. As we journey further in time, IoT will become a ubiquitous aspect of life at home and in the workplace. Gartner defines the IoT as the network of physical objects that contain embedded technology to communicate and sense or interact with their internal states or the external environment.” More simply, IoT devices are computers (typically very small), that are embedded into an object to perform a function (e.g., collect data, run software) and connect to a network (e.g., the internet). For example, an IoT device could be an assembly line sensor capable of detecting minute deficiencies and determining when equipment needs repair.

Unlock the Power of Private 5G: Top Applications and Key Business Outcomes

whitePaper | February 23, 2023

The private 5G market is at an early stage of development, but activity in the market is increasing. 5G accounted for over 50% of all publicly disclosed private network announcements at the end of 2022, according to Analysys Mason’s Private LTE/5G networks tracker.1 5G’s share is lower when non-public announcements are included, but it is expected that most private networks will eventually use 5G.

Threat detection and response in cloud environments

whitePaper | August 1, 2022

Cloud environments change fundamental assumptions in how to perform threat detection and response. The highly dynamic inventory of cloud workloads means systems come and go in seconds. When system configuration errors are introduced during a build, they can be exacerbated and amplified when automation replicates the errors across many workloads. Shared responsibility with the cloud service provider (CSP) creates potential threat detection gaps in the attack lifecycle.
