The agriculture industry is the foundation of economies worldwide, and it’s one of the most powerful tools to mitigate poverty and to bring prosperity. According to statista, by 2022, the smart agriculture market is expected to grow from approximately 9.58 billion USD in 2017 to 23.14 billion USD. Crucial factors such as exponential population growth, food security, and climate change have driven the agriculture industry into looking for more innovative approaches to improve efficiency and crop yield. As a result, the Internet of Things (IoT) has emerged as a savior for the agriculture industry by providing end-to-end visibility throughout the agriculture processes.

LIVING IN A SMARTER WORLD: WHY USE AI-ENABLED IOT IN HEALTHCARE

Article | March 12, 2020

Artificial Intelligence and Internet of things are hot topics now, as a consequence, integrating AI into IoT is becoming a common practice. The healthcare system is everybody’s business, so finding one's way around is equally important for all. Yet, keeping all the details in mind is no easy task. There are limits to human mental and physical performance. Thus going beyond one’s maximum has to be relegated to such technologies as the Internet of things and Artificial Intelligence. The implementation of innovative solutions in healthcare is always a good idea and IoT together with AI are strong drivers of the digital transformation regardless of what field the technologies are applied in. Municipal infrastructure, smart homes, retailing, manufacturing, supply chain, education, healthcare and life sciences — the entire digital ecosystem, an IoT ecosystem of connected devices, has been created and is growing stronger with each passing day. Empowered with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, among other things, IoT is used as a means of equipping people with intelligent assistance. Gradually, it is taking over both minor and major processes in a number of industries. Healthcare is no exception.

What Is IoT Forensics? Challenges Ahead and Best Tools to Use

Article | May 24, 2021

Internet of Things, generally known as IoT, is a network of objects or things. Embedded sensors help connect and exchange data with other objects via the internet. IoT is often related to the concept of smart homes, including devices like home security systems, cameras, lighting, refrigerators, etc. With all this data being transmitted over the internet, it is easy for the data to be modified, deleted, or stolen, which can lead to an invasion, theft, etc. IoT forensics plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and security of the data being transmitted. Join us as we explore this fascinating web of devices and how you can get started in this vibrant field of forensics.

Nokia adds 5G to worldwide IoT network, lets carriers test new sensors

Article | March 17, 2020

Nokia may be best known for cellular phones, but in recent years the Finnish company has focused on networking hardware — the radios and infrastructure that connect cellular devices to the internet. Today, Nokia announced that it’s augmenting its Worldwide Internet of Things Network Grid (WING) with new 5G capabilities, enabling cellular carriers to offer global-scale 5G IoT services to customers without building out their own networks. While that’s a lot of jargon to absorb at once, the gist is that carriers like AT&T and Verizon want to offer business customers the ability to connect small IoT sensors to the internet but don’t necessarily want to spend the money to build the cellular infrastructure the sensors need to communicate. So Nokia offers WING as a global IoT infrastructure, partnering with carriers to sell access on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Practical AI – A Serious Issue for Industrial IoT

Article | February 28, 2020

While the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is maturing rapidly, there’s often a strong link to Artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools to manage data flows. This raises a host of challenges including connectivity, security, storage and modeling requirements. Designers of IIoT devices and larger deployments must build in contingencies for shifts in these areas or risk falling short. While IIoT is gaining in maturity, the overall market still has many challenges to overcome. Some of these challenges are technical barriers to IoT device operation, such as connectivity standards and battery technology, but the picture is even wider than that. The world of IIoT not only requires IoT hardware to operate reliably and efficiently in all environments but also relies on supporting networks and services too. The result is that IIoT deployments cannot be viewed as isolated technology upgrades or productivity drives, but highly interconnected ecosystems sensitive to a wide range of variables – in particular the developing world of AI.
