Digi International introduces Digi XBee LR for LoRaWAN IoT deployments

The Digi XBee LR, the first XBee-class pre-integrated and pre-certified wireless communication module for sensors and end-nodes using LoRaWAN, was revealed by Digi International, a leading global provider of Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity devices, solutions, and services, today. Digi offers a full IoT solution with automated provisioning and deployment to support businesses in achieving significant ROI and quicker market access. In addition, Digi X-ON, its Low-Power Wide Area (LPWA) IoT data cloud platform, is combined with the rich connectivity, device, and gateway management capabilities of Digi X-ON.

With more than 20 million deployed devices, the Digi XBee LR module adds a new connectivity option to one of the most extensively used wireless IoT module footprints. As a result, OEMs are free to construct cutting-edge public or private cloud solutions for businesses in the agriculture, energy, logistics, manufacturing, utilities, and other sectors, thanks to this fully developed, tested, and certified module. These applications can include utility metering, building automation, remote asset monitoring, precision irrigation, and more.

Digi XBee LR can offer cloud connectivity with Digi and non-Digi LoRaWAN gateways and LoRaWAN network server cloud tools thanks to support for the LoRaWAN protocol. The initial shipment of the product will come in an MMT form factor with SMT and TH variations.
