Ubilite
Ubilite Inc. (“Ubilite”) today announced the immediate availability of its UBI206 platform based on the UBI206 SoC, targeted specifically for ultra-low power wireless applications. The UBI206 is a highly integrated single device that enables a vast number of IoT products with a minimal number of external components. It includes a switchless 802.11b/g/n radio, baseband processor, medium access controller (MAC), power management unit (PMU), memories, and a network application processor that runs the Wi-Fi link-layer protocols, TCP/IP stack, and IoT applications.

“UBI206 specifications are better by an order of magnitude than existing Wi-Fi solutions. The UBI206 was designed from the ground up at system level to optimize for lowest operating power and is the result of many years of development, Our solution offers a Wi-Fi experience with power consumption matching Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), thereby unleashing the full power of the IoT and enabling applications never before possible.”

Ismail Lakkis, CEO and founder of Ubilite

“IoT applications require low power processors and connectivity – especially if they are battery powered,” said Phil Solis, Research Director, Connectivity and Smartphone Semiconductors at IDC. “The market for Wi-Fi-enabled IoT devices will reach over 2.2 billion units in 2026 – about 44% of the 5.1 billion total Wi-Fi-enabled products that year.”

The UBI206 is optimized for several ultra-low power IoT markets including wearables, trackers, beacons, healthcare, smart home, industrial systems monitoring and control, and audio.

Ubilite UBI206 Key Features:
  • IEEE 802.11/b/g/n
  • Data rate up to 72.2 Mbps
  • Rx Sensitivity -97 dBm
  • Tx Power +6dBm (P-1dB)
  • Rx Active Power consumption 17mW
  • Tx Active Power consumption 25mW
  • DTIM10 power consumption 85uA
  • 5 x 5 QFN48 package

KORE's MODGo Enhances IoT Asset Management

KORE | February 28, 2023

KORE, a leading company in Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and global IoT Connectivity-as-a-Service (IoT CaaS), recently announced that it will introduce and demonstrate its new technology software MODGo at Mobile World Congress Barcelona. This innovative solution offers a systematic approach to managed services designed to assist companies in overcoming the challenges of IoT implementation and management. MODGo, a SaaS-based platform, makes it simple to Manage, Order, and Deploy IoT on the Go, providing businesses with a single solution to streamline the entire procedure. With MODGo, companies gain greater control over their IoT ecosystem, which involves device deployment, hardware configuration, network connectivity, inventory and order management, lifecycle management, device monitoring, and reverse logistics. For example, a company selling devices for usage-based auto insurance must first manage the logistics of distributing the devices to the appropriate customers before resolving the complexities of IoT, such as configuring the devices with the selected network connectivity and data plan. Moreover, once a client receives the devices, they must evaluate whether or not the devices are operating correctly, transmitting data, and reporting accurately. The company is also responsible if the customer requires additional or replacement devices or wishes to return their old devices for repurposing or disposal. The solution is designed to simplify, visualize and handle all aspects of IoT deployment, from order to device monitoring. IMS, a leading provider of vehicle driving data and connected insurance solutions and a KORE customer, collaborated with KORE to develop MODGo. KORE will demonstrate MODGo at MWC Barcelona from February 27 to March 2, 2023. It will provide a free demonstration and additional information on how MODGo and the full KORE portfolio are designed to simplify IoT. About KORE Wireless KORE Wireless is a leading provider of IoT solutions and services based in Alpharetta, Georgia. With extensive IoT knowledge and experience, it empowers organizations of all sizes to simplify the complexity of IoT and achieve transformative business performance. The company's purpose-built solutions, global reach, and deployment agility accelerate and materially impact customers' business outcomes. In addition, as an independent, expert advisor, it eliminates the time-consuming task of managing multiple IoT service providers, delivering all the necessary components for successful IoT implementation.
