J.D. Power and Avis Budget Group join the Internet of Things Consortium

Market researcher J.D. Power and Avis Budget Group have joined the Internet of Things Consortium, or IoTC, a business development organisation focused on connecting thought-leaders and companies to drive IoT interactions and partnerships. By joining the IoTC, J.D. Power will be among more than 70 well-known organisations such as ADT, Comcast, Cox Communications, Electrolux, FOX, Honeywell, LG Electronics USA, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Mastercard, Nestle, T-Mobile, Turner, The Weather Company, etc. Whereas Avis has been leveraging IoT technology to offer its customers the most flexible and convenient on-demand mobility options. Massachusetts-based Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) has introduced its V2.1 of the Industrial Internet Vocabulary Technical Report, aiming to boost the adoption of the IIoT. This new version of the report reduces the confusion in the marketplace by providing a common set of definitions for IIoT terms used in all IIC documents. It adds definitions for terms used in data management, edge and edge computing, IT/OT convergence, connectivity, interoperability, brownfield and Greenfield.
