Ligado selects Sequans and Ericsson to build satellite based IoT network

Ligado Networks and Partners to Develop 5G Technologies in L-Band. With support from leading 5G vendor Ericsson and chipmaker Sequans, Ligado Networks is taking an important step to advance satellite and terrestrial capabilities for L-Band spectrum. Ligado Networks today announced plans to begin developing 5G technology in the L-Band for mobile services in North America. Today’s announcement is an important milestone in a multi-year strategic plan to deploy a satellite and terrestrial mobile network that will utilize 40 MHz of mid-band spectrum to provide 5G solutions for critical industries and advance the next generation of American infrastructure.
