There’s no escaping that today’s IT Pro needs to be well-versed on the Internet of Things (IoT).  Technologist Dr. John Barrett gave a revealing TEDxCIT talk in 2012 on IoT’s endless possibilities and how they could shape our future.  In this next edition of our CompTIA IT Professional Webinar Series, we’ll explore how IoT is also shaping IT careers and pathway opportunities for today’s, and tomorrow’s, IT Professional. It’s been said that we could “assign an IPV6 address to every atom on the surface of the earth, and still have enough addresses left to do another 100+ earths. In other words, humans could easily assign an IP address to every "thing" on the planet. Robin O'Neill, Senior Director of Engineering at Western Digital and a pioneer in IoT work, along with CompTIA’s Dr. James Stanger, will dive into the IoT concepts that IT professionals need to understand today in preparation for the forecasted IoT future.  Operating systems, storage concepts, networking technologies, supporting architectures, the big innovations (and the big innovators), plus security implications will all be discussed.
