Asustek will introduce robots for IoT this year: company head

Taiwan-based Asustek Computer Inc. has entered the final stage of its development of robots for use with the Internet of Things (IoT) and will launch the new product within this year, Asustek Chairman Jonney Shih said Sunday. The company's development of several devices, including wearable devices, Asustek's ZenWatch or robots, for use with IoT technology has arrived at the "final stage and is in full swing," Shih said in response to questions at the company's year-end celebration. The long-anticipated robots will be launched this year, he said, asking people to "wait and see." Shih said 2016 will be a crucial year for Asustek, which has set several aggressive goals including becoming one of the world's top 10 smartphone vendors.
