HARMAN INTEGRATES GOOGLE BRILLO AND WEAVE IOT SOFTWARE

Harman has been named as the first systems integration partner for Google’s Brillo and its Weave IoT platform. The news was among a range of announcements by the company at CES 2016 concerning connected cars, branded aduio, connected services, lifestyle products, luxury audio and aftermarket services. Brillo is Google’s new Android-based developer platform for the Internet of Things (IoT) and Weave is the communications protocol for IoT devices that enables device setup, phone-to-device-to-cloud communication, and user interaction from mobile devices and the web. Through its collaboration with Google, Harman will support device manufacturers to design and develop Brillo and Weave-based devices faster and more economically for key IoT applications, including the smart home, consumer, automotive and enterprise segments.
