IoT to push consumer technology industry to $287bn in revenues

The Internet of Things (IoT) is set to push the consumer technology industry to $287 billion (£197bn), according to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). The CTA’s new semi-annual industry report, U.S. Consumer Technology Sales and Forecasts, argues that 4K UHD TV, wearables, drones will witness double digit growth in 2016 as well-established technologies including smartphones, televisions and laptops drive minimal growth of 1% though they account for 51% of the industry’s revenue.
