Orange, Verizon, IEEE IoT standards – IoT Innovations

Are IoT standards keeping up with IoT innovation?  IEEE IoT standards body is hard at work to deliver IoT P2413 interoperability standards framework by 2017.
IoT industry news:
? Verizon opened its network to IoT connected devices using a standard called Cat-1 LTE that limits upload speeds to 10 Mbps, lowers the modem costs, and extends battery life.
? Orange appears to be leading the IoT charge in Europe with several recent announcements including: EricssonIoT LTE GSM trial focused on reducing IoT complexity and
cost of deploying, while extending battery life; Orange will be deploying a low power long range LoRa network in 17 French urban areas and gradually rolled out nationally; Expanding Datavenue, their IoT platform, to include additional Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT) services aimed at enterprise IoT market; Orange released an IoT tool kit for connected object designers to prototype LoRa technology-based services.
? Research and Markets released two reports claiming that global IOT energy market will grow from $7b to $22b by 2020 and that IoT healthcare market will be worth $163.24 billion by 2020.
